Happy New Year! Bring on 2020 and all the ups and downs, tribulations and successes that this year will bring. I’m ready for it all with a stronger mind, an eager spirit, and a fresh perspective on the year!
At the close of 2019, I took quite a blogging hiatus. As many of you know, I delivered my precious baby girl on December 18th. Right around 33 or 34 weeks pregnant, I started to hit a level of tired that was beyond what I’d ever experienced with my other pregnancies.
Maybe it was the difference between a little girl and my boys, or maybe it was the fact that I stay home with two toddler boys that are full of constant energy. But regardless, I. was. tired.

So instead of opening my laptop, I focused more on self-care. I read and rested instead of writing. I spent nap times with Jackson, soaking up every extra second we could get together. I made sure our “Mama and Colton Days” were full of adventure and quality time while Jacks was at school. It was a focus on my growing family, my growing baby, and my growing tiredness instead of blogging. 🙂
But now I’m back! Refreshed with a little one right by my side to help me start the new year with you!

So without much further ado, here’s a little bit of life lately.
And introducing…
Mya Marguerite Kemper

Mya came into this world on December 18th and has truly made everything happier, calmer, and more complete. I have a full birth story coming at you tomorrow with all the details but for now, I had to share some pictures of my little beauty. My brown haired, sleepy two week old that just stole my heart from the start.

She instantly made me a stronger woman. More determined. More focused. More ready to raise a daughter than I ever thought I could be. She’s my best friend and I am completely and totally obsessed with her. 🙂
All the Christmas…
With Mya making her appearance around Christmas time, I was sure to pack in as many fun holiday activities before she came with my family of four.
It was all about Christmas tree hunts,

little adventures around KC,

all things holiday trains,

Polar Express rides,

and special dates to see all the holiday shows around the city.

Christmas Day
Typically, we spend alternating days traveling to either Jerod’s parents house and spending the day with my brother and his family. This year, we had a seven day old. That flips the script REAL quick! We decided early on that we would spend this holiday staying home, keeping our little girl away from the outside world just a little bit longer.
I missed seeing family. There’s no doubt about that. But to not have to travel and to wake up at our own house, with our own traditions made us just relish this year so much more!

It was one we will never forget. Santa treated us all so well, we took our time and spent the day in our PJs, ate our Dinner of 7 Fishes, a ham dinner, cinnamon rolls, and every kind of Christmas cookie the boys and I made over the last few weeks. The calories and the love were flowing at the Kemper house this Christmas!
I’m thrilled to be back to blogging and sharing our little life together. Thanks for hanging while I took my hiatus away. So from me to you…Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and here’s to your best year yet in 2020!
