Holiday Decoration Organization

I hope you had the very best holiday season! One filled with love, kindness, togetherness, and joy, plenty of good food, and a great time with family! I’m sure I speak for many (probably more accurately to say most!) of us when I say, ‘ how is it already over?!’

Halloween to December 26th was a total blur for us here! I blinked and it’s gone. I feel like I just got all my decorations up and now it’s time to start thinking of taking them down?!

Although my focus is mainly on celebrating the season, resting, and enjoying this time with my family, I like to take these days to reset and to reenergize and reorganize my thoughts. I shift my thinking to a new year. New goals. New attitudes. A clean slate.

This comes with my thoughts as well as in my home. The amount of clutter that’s taking up my house right now is truly boggling! There’s been so much STUFF that has come into the house and now it needs a place. So this week, I’m going to work to organize spaces in my home that need attention. and with it, I’m going to share some great organization tips and pieces that will make our lives just a little bit easier.

We’re going to start with holiday decorations. I’m not jumping the gun to get these down any time soon, but I’m going to prepare now for when I’m ready to start.

Whew…I’m a big sucker for boxes and storage bins but the way I pack tends to take waaaayyy too much time and I still end up with a broken piece or two the following year. I’m going to do it right this year and I’ll be patting myself on the back as it gets loaded in the attic…and I’ll be doing some major celebrating when it all comes down next year in a way that I can actually find what I’m looking for! Can you imagine not having to unload EVERY box to find one thing?!

64 Count Ornament Storage Box – Marked at 50% off right now, this is only $10 to safely store up to 64 total Christmas ornaments! I love how these can easily be stacked to maximize any storage space you use.

Gift Wrap Organizer – This stores up to 24 rolls of wrapping paper PLUS has extra pockets to hold scissors, ribbon, bows, tissue paper, gift bags, and tape. Bonus: It can slide underneath your bed so you don’t have to use up closet space!

50-Pack Self-Sealing Bubble Wrap bags – I stumbled across this find and I immediately purchased! We have so many ornaments that I spend HOURS individually wrapping in newspaper or napkins to ensure they aren’t broken. These can be ripped off the roll, sealed, and placed in a storage bin or box instantly. MAJOR TIME SAVER!!

Rolling Tree Storage Bag – I’ve seen a lot of artificial tree bags advertised, but this one is priced so well, has great reviews, AND has wheels so you can roll it from storage to rooms easily. It holds up to a 9 foot tree.

Double Wreath Storage – Another great stackable storage option to house your wreaths up to 30″ in diameter!

8-Pack Wind Up Cord Storage Solution – A simple space-saving solution for those pesky lights!

6-Pack Clear Plastic Storage Bins – These will definitely go on sale at every store this time of year, but I like this option from Amazon because they are extremely sturdy, have excellent handles and closures, and are CLEAR. I need to see what is inside my totes to help me as I’m moving around and stacking them. Many stores will run out of clear bins and you’ll be left with colored ones that you don’t know what’s inside. These are priced well for around $16/each, but hoping they get marked down even more this week!
