This week is going to be FULL of posts and jam-packed with exciting new things on my basement project! If you missed it, I shared a quick reel showing the MASSIVE transformation from dingy drop ceiling tiles to a gorgeous charcoal exposed ceiling in our basement. It’s been a major game changer in the height of our ceilings, the look of our space, and in the overall comfort of our basement (watch my highlights to see how I FOUND three heat vents that had been covered up…what?!)
Every time I’m working on a new space down there, I’m envisioning just what our basement is going to become in the end. It’s most certainly a long road, but one that I’m so genuinely excited about! The mood is going to be just that…moody. It’s going to have rich paint colors, deep brick tones, leather, and rich woods. I want this to be an escape for my husband and I, for our friends and family, and for our growing kids as their friends are looking for a good place to hang out.
So today’s Save Vs. Splurge edition is all about one area I will no doubt include as I decorate: LEATHER ARMCHAIRS. These were created in the 1920s as staple piece in gentlemen’s clubs, but the comfort and longevity of these chairs gave them lasting-power in all homes. As trends change and color palettes evolve, leather arm chairs stay. They can be a subtle contrast in a more neutral home, can add interest in a rich, moody home, or can add warmth in your brightest spaces.
So here we go, a true staple piece for any home! It’s time for Save Vs. Splurge: Leather Armchair Edition!
