Happy May everyone!! This could quite possibly be my very favorite month! School is coming to a close for my little, my backyard is full of beautiful blooms, and the excitement of long summer days are upon us. Windows are open, backdoor cracked, and lots of lazy days enjoying outside!
When I posted about our Fixer Upper we purchased last November, I took you through a tour of the house and showed you some of the not so pretty things inside. Then I gave a quick glimpse of our marvelous backyard space. We sit on a huge lot considering our location outside the metro, and the landscaping put in by the previous owners has come in just so beautifully! We spend a lot of time outside. I mean, A. LOT. So with two boys and plenty of room, I had an idea to add in a space for the boys to be just that…boys.
With an entire basement full of trucks and equipment, the “Outdoor Construction Site” brain child was born.
My husband loved the idea, and after talking through some basic ideas, he took off to Lowe’s and our nearby landscaping store. What he created from there was brilliant! I am so lucky to have this man in my life! 🙂
You can really see the location from this photo. My one necessity on where to put this was that I could see it completely from the back deck and from my kitchen window. He nailed it!
I won’t take you through a whole tutorial as this was 100% my husband’s doing, but I’ll show you photos I snapped as he worked. (I took out all the ones of him tirelessly bending over. :)) One Saturday and Sunday of beautiful weather, and my loving husband makes us this!
All that work for this glorious end product…
