I just had a girlfriend compare Target to Vegas and I decided that might be my favorite analogy I’ve ever heard! You go in for paper towels and you come out $200 poorer, pushing two carts…six hours later. Somehow the sun has set and you’ve missed two meals.
The goodness you find in those aisles is just something straight from Heaven! Cat & Jack apparel…too cute for words. The accessories section…O.M.G. Opal House…isn’t it time for our remodel to start, Jerod?! Just too much goodness for one store.
So obviously while I’m skipping from aisle to aisle, I love to stock up on affordable beauty products that are worth. the. money. I’m a huge fan of most products I purchase from more expensive retailers, but I just can’t always justify the cost. Can’t I get something just as good for 1/5 of the cost?
Through all my research, and quite a bit of trial and error, I’ve found some worthwhile beauty finds that are my constant go-tos and ones that I’ll put my stamp of approval on for you. You really won’t be disappointed! And a quick shopping note for all your busy, kid-carrying mamas who would love to nab these without crying kids…order these online and have them picked up in store. They’re waiting for you just inside those beautiful doors at customer service. No rationing with kids, no putting back all the toys they’ve somehow gotten off the shelves. Just scoot in, pick up, and head home!

NYX Pore Filler Primer/Base – $13.99
I mentioned in one of my previous What I Love Wednesday’s that one of my problem areas are my pores. I notice them quite a bit and struggle to find a makeup that has adequate coverage, or doesn’t settle in my pores within an hour. The brand NYX has a Pore Filler Primer/Base that totally does the trick for my pores. It feels velvety smooth and provides the best coverage, without any settling or caking. It also provides a smooth base that diminishes any wrinkles and fine lines. Most days, I just use my Pore Filler, blush, and mascara before I jet out the door. No additional foundation needed!
elf Baked Highlighter & Blush Rose Gold – $4.00
Yeah, you see that correctly…FOUR DOLLARS!! To get that gorgeous combination of shimmer, highlight, and blush, this elf combo is just right. It gives my cheeks the dewey, sun-kissed look I love to wear all summer long. And honestly, it has lasted me months now! Such a great buy!
L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Original Mascara – $5.79
Maybelline Volume Express The Rocket Mascara – $5.89
I always like to do two different types of mascara that play off each other to get the voluminous lash look I love. My long-time favorite has been the L’Oreal Parish mascara. I’ve tried other types but there is just nothing that compares. My lashes never stick, never clump, and I get length and volume all at the same time. I follow it up with Maybelline’s The Rocket mascara for a different brush type that really plumps my lashes for the final “almost look like they’re fake” eyelashes. I’ll take $12 mascaras over eyelash extensions any day!
Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color in Twisted Tulip – $5.19
I used to go back and forth between liquid lip color and lipstick for years. I could never decide my favorite or could stick to one brand that would work. One would fade quickly, rub off, or dry my lips out. I would be stuck constantly reapplying and frustrated. Then I foudn this Maybelline liquid lip color. Ohhh man! You put it on and it glides across your lips seamlessly. No settling, no cracking. Just perfectly smoothes across. And the color stays for hours WITHOUT fading, smudging, or drying out. The color, Twisted Tulip, is just a subtle light pink that brings out your coloring without being too bright and overpowering. The perfect girly color.

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub – $3.59
I knew this product has been around since I can remember, so I did a little digging and it came out onto the scene over 30 years ago. 30 years!! Don’t want to give my age away, but let’s just say me and St. Ives may have been long lost twins. 🙂 This product is a major exfoliater with some pretty harsh scrubbing beads that are meant to remove all your impurities and get your skin really glowing. My skin is a little too sensitive to handle this product as an all over body scrub, but I do use it once or twice weekly to remove dead skin and deep clean.
Jergen’s Natural Glow Instant Sun – $11.99
I used to be a sun worshipper. Like cover me in Hawaiian Tropic tan “accelerator” (a.k.a. olive oil) and lay me out in the sun for hours and hours listening to boy bands and gangster rap because…90s. Now I’ve gotten a little smarter…and a little more mom…and now I’m slathering up with SPF “way too much” and seeking shade. I take care of my skin, but do miss the tans that I once had. I’ve read amazing things about high end tanning mousse, but I just can’t justify the price for the length of time it lasts. So, I tried out this Instant Sun and had beautiful results! I had more people comment on how tan I looked and asked if I’ve been poolside a lot this summer. It’s natural, it’s easy to apply, and it doesn’t smell like most sunless tanners do. Great buy for amazing results!
I apply this product with the St. Tropez Tanning Mitt. It doesn’t slip off your hand, and keeps you from having orange fingers and webbing for days after application. 🙂

Not Your Mother’s Plump for Joy Body Building Dry Shampoo – $4.79
My final Target Beauty Find is this dry shampoo from Not Your Mother’s. I workout 4-5 times a week, and find myself working up a sweat throughout the day chasing/lugging/playing with two toddlers. My hair gets tossed up in ponytails more often than not. I needed to find a product that would allow me to go days between washing (because…time) AND allow me to take my hair out of my pony, plump up, and style down for a quick date night. I’ve tried oodles of dry shampoo, and for my oily hair, nothing was working until I found this one. Trust me guys…it’s goood!!!!
So there’s my list of go-to Target favorites that I stand by and highly recommend to you! And products that you want to put your seal of approval on, as well? Add them below to the comments!
So glad you are doing this blog!
Thanks so much!!
