It’s that time of the year where we’re starting to switch out our summer clothes for layers, changing out our bright green florals for subtle reds and oranges around our homes, and the bright, bold colors of summer flowers are wilting away with the cooler nights. I’ve been ready since about….mid-July. As many of you know, summer is NOT my jam. Sweating away day in and day out is not a scene I long for. But this…this turn to fall is exactly what I’ve been dreaming about.

Black and White Striped Rug // Oh, Hello Doormat // Black Lanterns // Baskets (Home Goods find) // Faux Fall Grass Wreath
So I stopped off at my favorite nurseries this weekend and I snagged my four go-to flowers and plants that make my front porch shine year after year. A collection of mums, decorative kale, purple fountain grass, and ornamental peppers. I love to put them in an assortment of white pots and wicker baskets to bring in a little more dimension and character to my white and black house.

To add to it, I place a few of my favorite lanterns filled with pretty, soft white candles and place a beautiful wreath on the front door. This year, I created a dupe of the Pottery Barn Faux Fall Grass wreath that is a major bestseller this season. Soon enough, I’ll bring in some pumpkins to add a little additional color to this space and really finish off this front porch. And then before you know it, it’ll be time to really spook it up for Halloween!

Simple changes, dimension, color, and pretty fall plants make for a beautiful front porch for minimal effort. My go-to year after year…and for good reason! Need a little more inspiration? Check out my favorites on the market right now!
