Every year, without fail, I find myself reaching for the same Christmas staples: rich plaids, deep greens, timeless reds, and those layered-in textures that make your home feel like it’s straight out of a Ralph Lauren holiday catalog. And lucky for me… classic Christmas is having a serious moment this year.
So today I’m walking you through our living room, front room, and kitchen—all decorated in that nostalgic, traditional style that just makes my heart feel at home. This post is mostly photos (yay!) with links at the end of each room for anything you want to recreate.
Living Room

This is the room where everything comes together—where the kids pile on the couch, where we watch Christmas movies, where the tree twinkles every night. Here’s what I highlighted this year:
Cozy Pillows & Blankets

Think oversized knits, cable textures, classic green and red, and of course… plaid. Layered on the couch and in a basket for that lived-in, cozy-all-the-time feel.
The Mantel & Fireplace Shelves

This year I went all in on timeless pieces—fresh greenery, brass accents, candles, and a few collected pieces that feel special. The shelves got a refresh with mini wreaths, garlands, and a couple nostalgic pops of red.

The Christmas Tree

Classic ornaments, ribbon, berries, candles… it all worked together so beautifully this year. If you love “collected over time” trees, this one is for you.

Front Sitting Room
This room is always one of my favorites to decorate because it holds our piano and my sideboard buffets—perfect little spots to create moments of Christmas magic.

Sideboard Buffets

I styled both sideboards with a mix of greenery, candles, bowl fillers, and a few statement pieces that bring height and dimension. It feels warm, inviting, and a little bit elegant… like Christmas deserves.

The Piano
I kept the piano simple and sophisticated with a garland, a couple of brass elements, and sheet music that instantly feels nostalgic. And yes, I always imagine someone from a Hallmark movie sitting down to play it.

Kitchen

The kitchen might be my favorite space this year—it’s a blend of grown-up cozy and kid-friendly fun.
A Gorgeous Centerpiece

Nothing over the top—just enough greenery and texture to make the kitchen table feel festive without competing with everything else.

Christmas Village in the Window
This little setup might be the star of the entire kitchen. Soft glows, tiny houses, and one of those details the kids love to help me put up year after year.

Kid-Friendly Hot Chocolate Bar

This is where the fun happens! I added jars with cocoa, marshmallows, candy canes, and some sprinkles on this tray. The kids think it’s magic—and honestly, so do I.
