It’s that time again!! It’s time to link-up with some of my favs, Mix and Match Mama, The Larson Lingo, and Sheaffer Told Me To, for a What’s Up Wednesday! P.S. If you don’t follow these three beauties, you need to ASAP! 🙂
What We’re Eating This Week…
I love pasta! Let’s get serious…I love every kind of carb in existence. But pasta ranks real high as one of my favorites. Around this time of year, I love a fresh, flavorful pasta that is light and delicious. I just made this pasta this week and the whole family gobbled it up!
What I’m Reminiscing About…
Well since our A/C went out last week…I’m reminiscing about that time I had an air-conditioned house. 🙂
So, seriously…I’m just a few weeks away from Colton’s first birthday. That means I’m knee deep in party favors and plans, but I’ve also been gathering all my babe’s first year memories to display for his party. I love showing all his sweet little pieces along with his birthday decorations to give that sweet added touch for our guests to look through. Looking back on all his little outfits, his footprints, and all his little milestones he’s reached already, I get so nostalgic…and a little weepy. 🙂 If you’re looking for easy and adorable ideas on WHAT to collect and HOW, check out Baby’s First Year Memories post!
What I’m Loving…
For my birthday, my hubs got me an APPLE WATCH!! Eeee!! I’m giving it a few weeks for me to learn all about it, try new things, and get a real opinion before I do a review of it. Check back soon!
What We’ve Been Up To…
With Colton turning one, I wanted to get a new set of family photos done to update our frames from his newborn pics! The best KC local photographer, Kayla Alden, took gorgeous family photos for us this month and we just got them back. Oh, my heart! I can’t even begin to rave enough about them!! Take a look at this post just to see how amazing they turned out..and just what to do with family photos after you get them!
What I’m Dreading…
Can you really dread anything when school is out and summer is unofficially here!? Breakfast outside each morning, warm temps, and fireworks and festivals every weekend. It’s my favorite time of the year with the boys!
What I’m Working On…
If you know me, you know I’m a list maker. There’s a paper I did from second grade where I actually made little check boxes with a list of how to clean our livingroom! 🙂 Okay, maybe a touch of OCD over here! 🙂
So, of course, I created a “list” for our summer. But it’s a fun list! Here’s over Our Summer Bucket List with over 100 ideas of how to really enjoy every moment of our summer break!
What I’m Excited About…
We have a Date Night planned for this Thursday!! We haven’t had one in awhile now, and when we got it in the books, I’ve been counting down the days! We haven’t picked what we’re doing just yet, but I snuck out to Target and Loft this weekend to snag up some cute looks during their Memorial Day sales that I’m deciding between. Which one do you think??
White Tank // Paisley Tie Waist Shorts
Ruffle Strap Cami // White Skinnies
What I’m Reading…
The second I finished reading Pressing Pause: 100 Quiet Moments for Moms to Meet with Jesus, my sweet husband went out and got me a Becky Thompson book called Hope Unfolding. This book is a reminder that we are not alone in motherhood and that we need to encounter the truth of God’s presence to fuel our strength and instill ourselves with confidence. So far, I’m a HUGE fan of this book! It’s one of those books that every chapter, I feel like it is coming straight from God for me to read! Like, “Becky, YES!!”
I also nabbed another devotional to start every morning with called Everyday Holy. Melanie Shankle spreads the word through humor and humility. Another book I HIGHLY recommend!!
What I’m Listening To…
Kids in the Car: We can’t get enough of Old Dominion’s Happy Ending album!! The most fun summer songs that just make you smile! Just like they say, “Who doesn’t love a happy ending?!”
Kids NOT in the Car: Cardi B. 🙂
What I’m Doing This Weekend…
Jacks is the BIGGEST fan of trains, or “choo-choos” as we hear on the daily. On Friday, a nearby town has the Day Out with Thomas and Percy. There are two real trains completely redone to look just like the characters! You get a 30-45 minute ride on the train and get full access to all the activities on site. He is going to FREAK when he sees them!!
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month…
June is going to bring so many reasons to celebrate! We have sweet Colton’s first birthday, Father’s Day, and Jerod’s birthday all next month! I’ll do a Father’s Day post next week with some really fun ideas for kids or adults to do for Father’s Day. Check it out soon! I’ll also post alllll about C’s birthday party with plenty of details!
What Else Is New…
Slow mornings, sunshine, and summer fun!
How are you going to spend your summer? I love hearing new ideas!!
