If the Pumpkin Spice Latte is being served, does that mean that fall is officially here? Be honest. How many of you went out and nabbed one yesterday? I didn’t, but being in the 70s with lows tonight in the 50s sure does have me dreaming plenty of fall dreams and wishing of cooler temps. Maybe it’s just that time of year that I’m ready for the change…or that I’m almost six months pregnant and I’m so over the heat, but I’m READY for some September!

Get me this front porch and some cool weather. I’m so ready for you!
But in the meantime, how about we talk about What’s Up Wednesday for this day in August?! Here’s what the family and I have been up to!
What We’re Eating This Week
Next week, Jacks heads back to school so I’m working on some Back to School recipes with some of his favorites. For my little cookie monster, I’m making him a special treat of M&M Monster Bars to have to celebrate the end of his first day and he’s going to be thrilled!

M&M Monster Bars
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup milk chocolate M&Ms
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Line a 9×9 baking pan with foil and spray with nonstick cooking oil.
Mix together the butter, peanut butter, sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
Mix in the eggs, one at a time. Mix in the vanilla, salt, and baking soda.
Gently fold in the flour, oats, and chocolate chips. Lastly, fold in the M&Ms.
Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are slightly pulling away from the pan. Don’t overbake. You want the centers to be slightly gooey.
Let cool before slicing and enjoy these sweet treats!
What I’m Loving
One for me and one for my new sweet babe today.
First, my baby girl. I’m LOVING this wallpaper I put up in my little girl’s nursery! I snagged three rolls from Home Depot and immediately started working to put it up. Truly, one hour later and the focus wall in her nursery looks GORGEOUS! I can’t wait to give a tutorial and then a nursery update soon!

Now onto my new obsession for my feet…these cuties! I just recently purchased these camo slides from Amazon and they fit so well, look great with shorts, jeans, and even my running shorts. I’ve made these work with every outfit and I can’t wait to keep these going all through the fall with all my favorite cardigans!

What We’ve Been Up To

Colton moved out of his crib and into his big boy bed!! For a boy that wasn’t a stellar sleeper from birth until…oh, about 2 years old…he’s doing amazing sleeping in his bed! When did he get so big? I swear, it happened overnight.
And of course, spending every…

Minute

With These Cuties.

I adore these two so much! ❤
What I’m Working On
When it was time to convert my office into the nursery, I started to really take a look at our upstairs. When we bought our Fixer Upper, our upstairs was of last priority. But once you start making things new, you start seeing the nasty popcorn ceilings, gross carpets and nicked up walls a little more clearly.
So along with working on Baby Girl’s nursery, I’m going full force on fixing our hallway.
Not great, right? Okay, okay. Pretty gross.

Alright. Really gross, right?
So far, popcorn ceilings are nixed. Carpets are new and installed. Trimwork repainted. Walls painted and pictures hung. I’ll share the DRASTIC after pictures soon!
What I’m Excited About
All of these adorable Amazon fall finds I posted about yesterday! Priced so well and so, so cute!!

But also I’m really excited for school to start for Jackson next week. I’ll miss him terribly and will most likely sob my eyes out on his first day (can we just chalk it all up to pregnancy hormones?! 😉) But I’m excited for Jacks to get back with all his friends and to have that fixed curriculum. And I’m excited for time with Colton to teach him all those things he’s dying to learn, but struggling to get the individual time to fully learn.
And as I talk about Back to School, I’m looking back at all his first days and maybe…just maybe…I’m crying just a little.

Now I’m off to work on his new Back to School sign for next week!
What I’m Reading

I just finished reading a book called The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewell and I have to say, it’s one that keeps you up late at night because you just can’t get over their craziness! You can’t put it down because you can’t wait to uncover all their family secrets.

Tonight I’m going to start reading All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. I’ve heard AMAZING things about this book and can’t wait to start!! Have you read? What did you think?
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month
Football season. Pumpkin spice everything. Fall colors. Decorating for the new season. And being six months pregnant! These are a few of my favorite things! 🙂
