Kid’s Birthday Shirts

We celebrated Jackson’s 4th birthday yesterday with a family party, kicking off a 3-day birthday-palooza for my sweet guy! Tomorrow, his actual birthday, we have his preschool party and then our own little birthday at home after Jerod gets home from work. I love everything that goes into celebrating my little boys, and I’m always down for a little theme to go with all the fun. 🙂 So each year, I like to get the boys a shirt to match their very favorite things at the time and theme their party around it.

Been around here long, you know what Jacks is completely obsessed with all things trains. So two years running, we’ve gotten him train shirts as special birthday shirts he can wear on his birthday.

Last year, we snagged his shirt from Target in their character tees and he has been obsessed with this shirt for a full year now!

For his 2nd birthday, we went construction themed and had a “dirt cake” and all.

And for his first birthday, it was a full baseball themed party topped off with matching tees for Jacks, Jerod, and me! Jerod just loves when I rope him into my themes. 😉

The fronts were plain for the adults and said “Rookie of the Year” for Jackson’s.

For sweet Colton, his themes these past two years have been a struggle for me to find shirts that I loved as much. Too juvenile or not the right colors. Just never loving the shirts that are out there. So what do you do? Make your own!

For his second birthday in June, he wanted all things fire trucks. I found this great custom fire truck printable off Etsy for just $3! I used PicMonkey.com to add in the name “Colton” across the fire truck and the number 2 on the truck, and printed off on transfer sheets I got from Michael’s.

My go-to DIY tees I purchase from Amazon. Always so soft and hold up wash after wash….after wash. Minimal shrinkage and take transfers to easily. I used them for Colton’s first and second birthday party tees.

His first birthday was basketball themed and there just wasn’t something that was something that worked well for Colt OR me.

Time to DIY!

I purchased the number 1 basketball printable for Colton and just a simple matching basketball for Jerod, Jackson, and myself.

It’s always fun for the kids to have something special to wear for their big day, and it’s great to see them pull it from their closet day after day and talk about their birthday parties. Now the big question is just how much longer will they let me do this? 🙂
