If you’ve been following along my Weekend Update’s the last few weeks, you’ve seen that I’m taking a deep dive into my garage. It was a clean-out, an organization, scraping ceilings, and painting kind of month. The final product will eventually be something of this standard:

No, we are not anywhere near this yet. Yes, I’m very ready to get here.
BUT (glass half full), I am making major progress on the paint right now which is going to be the absolute hardest part of this project. This KC heat is absolutely no joke right now, and it’s really putting the stall on getting the ceiling painted. One coat down, just one more to go. The weekend is looking promising, guys. I’m going to do it!
As I look to the end of this process and beginning to detail out just how our garage mudroom will look and function, I have started to determine lighting for this space. And looking WAY ahead at my next room I’m going to work on, I will need very similar wall sconce lighting over homework desks. Then maybe some in our master on either side of our beds? Then maybe some more to replace our farmhouse lighting in our sink? Listen, I love sconce lighting. I love the price of it. I love how you can easily change fixtures. And I love how much of a statement it can make with little break to the budget.

Brass Swing Arm by JONATHAN Y // Modern 1-Light Black Swing Arm // 1-Light Natural Brass Sconce // Gold Dimmable Armed Sconce // Black Dimmable Armed Sconce // Long-Armed Oxidized Black Sconce // Black Embossed Star Swing Arm // Gold Bell Sconce // Vintage Aged Brass Swing Arm // Antique Brass Downlight // Gold Scoop Shade Sconce
As for our garage mudroom, I am really loving the look of the Antique Brass Downlight. I won’t be hardwiring those lights, and will instead be hiding the wires along the woodwork and plug in under the bottom shelving. Cost-efficient, beautiful, and just the extra added touch of classic and industrial I’m looking for to light up this space.
