We had such a low-key, relaxing weekend and I loved every minute of it! When we have big plans, I look forward to the weekends because of the potential for fun and making memories. When we have very few plans, I look forward to the weekend because we have the potential to take things slow, spend a little more time laughing and playing, and can finally appreciate the slowness that a day can bring. Sometimes I wonder just which one I love more!
And anyone else’s kids really struggling with the adjustment back to school?! Whoa. Talk about an exhausted little kindergartener! At pick-up on Friday, his first few words to me were, “How many hours until bedtime?” Bless your heart, bug.

I finally got the popcorn ceiling in the garage scraped and it’s all. gone. I repeat, the popcorn ceiling is finally GONE! And oh what a mess that was. Scraping a ceiling from 1985 not only drops those bits of “popcorn” all over the floor, but just what else was I scraping off of that surface? *shivers* Thank goodness it’s all gone.
BEFORE AFTER
Along with that, I got a piece of drywall up on the ceiling to cover the space cut out for an HVAC installation during our remodel 3 years ago. It’s been an eye sore on the ceiling and even just screwing up a piece of drywall already makes a huge difference!
Now this week ahead, I have goals to:
- Tape and mud added drywall piece, sand when dry
- Paint two coats of paint on the ceiling
- Begin moving items in garage away from walls to prepare for painting walls
- Can I get some walls painted?! I don’t know. I don’t think. Wouldn’t it be amazing?! Send help…
I’ve also started Pinning away so many fall decor and Halloween fun for the upcoming months! Doesn’t anyone else have the itch to start decorating, crafting, and throwing some chili on the stove? I’ve promised myself I’ll keep my fall obsession to myself until September 1st, but just know I’m doing some major plotting and planning over here!

As I said, this weekend was one for relaxing, but we sure did have some fun!

Colton is finally big enough and old enough to ride the ferris wheel at our local Scheel’s! This was a big moment for my middle and his smile never stopped the whole ride. Yes, I could have done curbside pickup to get that birthday gift, but spending 30 minutes in the store for THIS was worth a million.

Saturday evening, we went to my precious Godson’s 2nd birthday party at their house. Pizza, ice cream sandwiches, and friends…that was my kind of Satuday.

And our crew finally headed back to the movies for the first time! Peep the stuffed animals in the chairs…any guesses?! Jerod took the boys to see the new Paw Patrol movie on Sunday afternoon while I hung back and let Mya nap. Baby girl could never last 1.5 hours. Can she really even last for 1/2 an episode?!
