How did Day One go for you?? I have to say the meals were even easier to prepare than expected and made plenty of servings to even pack a lunch for my hubs for lunch the next day. Leftovers are my jam! I will admit that the hardest part was certainly not having a sweet treat after meals. I’m a big fan of an Oreo or two, or some ice cream, after meals. It was a mental struggle to not go after those treats, but I’m hopeful that those sugar cravings will be kicked after this five days!
Now on to Day Two! Grab your grocery list here for a great day of flavorful meals! Simple meals, a lot of ingredients we have used and will reuse the remainder of the week, and refreshing, summer tastes that you’ll want to remake even after the cleanse!
Breakfast – Green Smoothie
1 scoop protein powder – I use Vega, a plant-based protein powder
1/2 cup ice
1/2 frozen banana – makes for more of a smoothie consistency, but a room temperature banana will do the trick in a pinch
1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 cup water
2 handfuls spinach or kale
Put all ingredients in the blender and blend well. Enjoy!
Lunch – Avocado Toast
1 slice whole grain bread
1 avocado – peeled, pitted, sliced, and mashed
6 grape tomatoes, halved
1 teaspoon chia seeds
Toast bread to desired doneness. Spread mashed avocado over toast. Add sliced tomatoes and sprinkle with chia seeds. Dive right in!! 🙂
Dinner – Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken Wrap
Teriyaki Sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1 clove garlic, minced
Chicken
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Garlic powder, to taste
Chili powder, to taste
Salt and pepper, to taste
Wrap Ingredient
Romaine lettuce
Pineapple – Cored and sliced into rings
1/4 red onion – sliced
Preheat grill to medium to medium high heat. Season chicken with garlic powder, chili powder, and salt and pepper on both sides. When heated, grill chicken for about 8 minutes on each side.
Meanwhile, mix all ingredients for teriyaki sauce in a small mixing bowl.
Wrap chicken breasts, red onion, and pineapple in romaine lettuce pieces. Drizzle with teriyaki sauce. Serve and enjoy!
